Ha ha! Fun update! My just out of warranty chevy blazer just tossed a rod up through the engine block. Pistons should not pierce the hood... so hell with it.. I'm getting a Vespa. I give up...

Anything with 4 wheels that will get me where I need to go....in a decent amount of time....lol..

I'm not fussy about what I drive..at present I have a 1999 Mercury Grand Marque.....nice car ! But before that I drove a 1984 Ford Grand Victoria...old police car...had duel exhaust and we NEVER had an engine problem with that old car...took us over 250,000 miles. It still had the metal ring on the floor where they chained prisoners to.....LOL ! Always threatened to use that for my kids if they got out of line !

My husband drives a 1991 Chevy Caprice....big boat of a car ! I think that's one of the last very big cars ever made. It's showing it's age though, but still drives fairly well.

I take it Dodge/Chrysler isn't worth mentioning?

Exactly...hahaha (had to say it)

I've owned Chevy, Ford, Mercury, Buick, Dodge...but nothing could touch the Toyotas I've owned. They run forever, with few if any problems. My first car was a $150 Celica with nearly 200,000 miles that lasted me all 4 years of college. Best investment ever. :thm:

German here....

My daily driver's a VW, if I need to carry something a more than 3 feet long I'll take the Mountaineer.

Historically I've owned more Fords than anything, and I miss my Lincoln.

That's very funny. My daily is a VW. My tow/haul/kiddy-cart is a mountaineer. :thm:

Honda, honda, honda and honda. 3 Odysseys and an Accord. Oh, also an 18' bass boat w/ 200hp Mercury V-6.

Quit buying domestic cars a number of years ago. When I lived in Texas, 5 of us at Laughllin AFB all bought Dodge 1/2-ton trucks with the 5.2L V-8. The engine, which was just the old 318cid w/ TBI instead of the Carter 4V was okay, and the transfer case was rocketproof (NP231, definitely not a Chrysler product). Everything else fell apart.

Actually, I can't complain...out of us 5, I was the only one who didn't have the transmission turn into a grenade. But, all of us had differential (rear only) and driveshaft problems as well. I went through 3 rear axles and 4 driveshafts, 2 trans-overdrive units, failed ignition and fuel injection computer componenets, and the paint coming off in sheets at the 5-year point (only on the roof and hood; everywhere else, including the bed, the paint was solid...what the hey???).

The Hondas are pretty good. Not too expensive, last long time, cheap to run.

I have a Ford Explorer. Though its been a great vehicle, I think I would prefer Honda. My fiance has a Honda Civic and I think the quality is a little better. Then again our family has had Ford's all my life and we have always had problems so that could be altering my view.

Of course I'm sticking with an SUV next time around too... So not entirely sure who makes good SUV's.

I have a Ford F150 out of practicality as I have horses and haul them in a trailer (it's an automatic--yuck). Have had a long list of cars, trucks and vans over the years--most fun was the "2-story shop dolley"--a hard top Suzuki Samurai (bad publicity but ya just have to use your common sense!!) Having a little Honda Civic poot-scooter would rock my world for every day driving. Chrylsers have bin berry berry gud 2 me! The 2 Chevy 6-cylinder pickups my ex had absolutely sucked!! I love cars, they are like moving sculptures. :dance2:
