Since were on the topic of foreign vrs amercian cars, I figgured I would see what everybody drives.

I currently own a Mazda, Chevy, Hyundai, Subaru, and Ford. But I am by far a Chevy man.

P.S. Mishi, Saturn is marketed as a GM product. They use it to make their cars look like they are quality vehicles now, they are proud to share platforms with GM. Solstice/sky, Equinox/Vue, Ion/Cobalt. They marketed as GMs. If you look at the bottom of the screen on commercials or if you look at the bottom of the page in mag. ads you will see the GM emblem, and also if you look on the cars themselves right behind the front tires on the body panel is a little GM logo.

Edit: Subaru is also a subsidiary of GM.

I don't recall that they did market it as GM when they first started selling Saturns. I haven't had the interest in them to pay attention to how they advertise now.

I did not know that Subaru is GM. Hmm, don't know if I like them as much now. ;)

Yeah they never used to market as GM, it was the same with Daewoo. Neither were marketed as GM, as GM looked at them as a stain on its reputation. Also up until recently GM was only a small part of those companies, but over the past few years GM has become full owners of the two companies.

Edit: what I said in the last post is directed at the newer cars only.

As for Subaru, yeah GM is 35% owner of the company.

I am trying to track down this Auto manufacturer who owns who diagram I have saved somewhere, I will post it just for those who are curious.
