sutable for a well planted 10 gallon tank. my wife wants a fish with more personality than the present guppies. tank mates would be one ottocinclus and posibly a small bottom feeder. she is willing to spend/is spending a little time on the tank so somthing a little difficult is acceptable.

plants
1 aponageaton
hydrophilia
egeria
java moss
anubius nana
micro sword

ph 7.2-7.4, low/moderate hardness, hob filter

some adjustment posible but want a sutible fish for the set up as is
single fish, breeding pair or small group is all good. also have two 5 gal tanks for grow out for possible ofspring

apistogrammas are good for that tank size.

if you want a cichlid, i agree with dude who posted before.

if you want somethin else, why not a puffer. you need brakish water, but i have seenthem kept in a 10 before.

I take it that there are more than one kind of apistos? how hard are they to breed? not that it is a requirment. and I just want to be sure that all the nice plants in the tank would not be disturbed to much. i know that some cichlids dig alot and with just gravel holding the plants down yikes

on the puffer idea there are freshwater puffers. unless some one is able to convince my wife of the personality and size of any of the freshys no takers on that one.

i repeat not changeing the planted aspect of the tank, so not going brakish

fill me in. I don't know what those are. or at least give me the full name. I tryed to search for curviceps and got no where. maybe I spelled it wrong

same story on kribs. I guess that is a shortened version of the name. can some one tell me the full name or some info on them

Sorry, Kribs is shortened for Kribensis and their scientific name is Pelvicachromis Pulcher. They're a cichlid that gets to be about 8 cm or so and is usually peaceful with other fish.

Here's a pic:

I went home and found curvicepts in my baensch book. also known as flag cicklids. so I answered my own question.
