Ok i have a 29 gallon aquarium, i want to raise cichlids, but i dont know what species to get, i like the convicts but i dont know how big they get, so i am asking all you to kinda tell me what to get, i dont want huge fish, the maximum length i want is 5-6 inches, i like colorful fish that dont eat there babies, well all help will be appreciated,

I keep a breeding pair of T-Bars Cryptoheros sajica in a 29. They are great parents and grow to a maximum size of around 4". They are not picky when pairing, like caves and overturned pots and are very colorful in spawning colors, a deep velvety blue after spawning. They do dig the gravel but respect plants most of the time.

It is primarily intentended for those interested in keeping African cichlids but you might get some inspiration from it.
