Hello,
I am looking to add some beginner corrals. I have 3 watts per gallon in a 55. My tank is still young but I am trying to get my stocking game plan together and would love to add some colorful and easy to maintain corrals. I am not willing to spend any more money on equipment so I need corrals that can be kept with the set up I currently have. Any suggestions?

I am assuming this is something like 2X96 PC over the 55. That should be fine for a lot of corals.
Some possibilities:
Among the soft corals:
Leathers (put near the top of the rockwork): sarcophyton (toadstool), sinularia (finger leather)
anthelia (aka weed coral, because it's so easy)
tree corals: nephthea (aka litophyton), capnella (kenya tree)

Also:
zoanthids
mushrooms

Among the stonies, I have seen euphyllia (hammer coral) do well in that kind of lighting.

There are certainly more.

Normal output fluorescents supposedly pack less of a punch, but the answer is pretty much the same as before. Add the corals slowly, and keep an eye on the growth, extension and color.
