:help: :help: ok i get ready to clean my tanks get everything set up ...get out the python gte the gravel vacumed get all the decorations rinsed and change one filter ...just like i always do...and then i start refilling and all is going well...then the water gets this funny bubbling stuff all through out it...i cant get it to settle it looks like i am still adding water theres a film on the water and the only thing i added was the dechlorinater..the same way i always do...so before adding fish i changed 75 % of the water again it still iss the same so I am adding water that was previously in the tank, i use the old tank water for housing the fish until the cleaning is complete...and that seemed to have helped a little but i need to get the fish back in there...water params are nitrates are according to the all in one strip...20ppm nitritesare 0 hardness is moderate ph is 7.2,which is what this tank reads consistantly as well...so what is whith the stupid bubbles and film on the water? :hang: :hang: on a limb here but we just had a huge set of thunderstorms ...could tis be the problem?

I would guess that your fittings on your Python aren't as tight as they should be and it's allowing a tiny stream of air to inject millions of little bubbles into the water. I would check your O rings and attachment points. Sometimes all those bubbles can collect under the surface of the water and look like a film. Just wait a little while and let the bubbles settle out.

Contact the utility and see if they made any changes to the water treatment. It frequently happens in the spring, and large storms certianly can impact tap water (the runoff from large storms alters the reservoirs, introducing more fines and such from the drainage area).

i will check both ... I didn't think about my python ...I just got a new sink connecter becuse mine had broke so if i didn't put it on tight enough that could have been the problem...and I will contact the water company just to be sure ...it still looks pretty bad ..I set up another filter and am now running three on this tank for the time being ...hopefully this will help clear up the problem! thanks for the replies!!!
