This is something that can be and is debated by many, there probably never will be a definitive answer. Why does anything happen in a persons lifetime, it just does, nothing you can do about it.

The Earth warming and cooling is a natural process. This global warming stuff is sorta nice cause we arn't in an ice age anymore. We are not causing or speeding it up though. I remember 30years ago they were saying that we are going to be going into the next ice age
