i clicked them all. i try to switchh around what i feed my fish. from frozen to flakes to live foods.
Snails will eat basically anything. tmtpowers has a great list of calcium-rich veggies you could PM her for. I guess another route would be to soak shrimp pellets in liquid calcium supplements designed for reptiles (formulated for ingestion, vs. dosing water like coral supplements). Shrimp pellets are great for shrimp because they are made from shrimp (soylent green, anyone?) and so contain nutrients that they need in their bodies like iodine.icecubez189 said:speaking of what we feed our fish, anyone know whats a good sinking wafer to supplement both my snails and shrimps? something both will want to eat and has a good source of calcium. i've seen shrimp wafers, bottom feeder wafers, carnivourous bottom feeder wafers, etc. what to pick?
icecubez189 said:i was kinda confused at first if shrimps eat shrimp pellets (soylent greens is people!) but if they do, i guess the snails will eat them too. i might go pick them up sometime this week. i heard they were packed with a good amount of calcium anyways.
2 days ago, i bought a cucumber, washed it, sliced two pieces off, washed them a little, then i freezed and thawed it to make them easier to eat, attached to veggie clip and placed it on the glass near the bottom of the tank. i checked every so often, but no snails went to eat it. after soaking for hours, still nothing. when i did see a snail approach the cucumber slices, they just "walked" right over them as if an obstacle. will i have better luck with other veggies? (lettuce, spinach, etc etc)
