What do you guys feed your gobys? Becuase my orange spotted watchman goby is always hiding in my LR and when I feed my other fish with brine shrimp flakes he doesn't come out. What is a good food for gobies?

I have a mixture of all sorts which does not include any flakes. I use mysis, brine, cockle, plankton and others which they all eat. How long have you had your goby? I only ask because I didn't see mine eat for the first week and now he's up there with the rest of them - so much so I even watched him eating the Nori seaweed on my algae clip the other day which is at the top of the tank.

I have a yellow watchman goby, I hardly saw him at all for the first week let alone see him eat! Now though he eats the flake but prefers frozen mysis. I've had him about 3 weeks now and I know when it's feeding time cos he comes out and waits!

Mine does not come all the way to the surface to eat flake food, but he goes after the mysis shrimp that I feed every 2nd day. I actually can put it in a turkey baster and put it right down by him, and he will eat out of the end of it. I think I got very lucky, my LFS told me some of them do not take well to eating foods, and only clean rocks and eventually die.

I coax my engineer out of its whole buy feeding him a variety pack with some Xtreme garlic. Works like a charm hes gotten soooooo big looks kinda like an eel.

Feeding a goby

My orange spotted goby eats everything that I feed. Flake food to pellets and all frozen shrimp. He's a pig but happy and healthy.
He never hides except at night when he covers himself up in the sand burrow he has made. Always up front and sometimes pauses looking at me like he is asking (Whats for lunch.) :headbang2:

Yeah, I must be lucky too. My orange spotted goby is the same way. He eats everything and is out all day long.
