I've got a couple of "bream" in my tank... actually one is a small sunfish (it is redish and gold on the body with bright turqouse blue marking over his face and red sploched eyes) and a common blue gill in my 30 gallon.. They are very fun fish... I also have one small catfish and three cherry barbs with them. The Bream don't even pay any attention to the other fish... I got them when they where reallys mall in a minnow trap out of a lake we have a house on... They spend alot of there time ducking under the lava rock in my tank and swimming wide open through the plants... I've had them a good wihle now (7-8) months...
When they get bigger I plan to add them back where I got them from and collect a couple more small ones...
They seem to have stopped getting big so fast and holding out around 4 inches long. I don't run a heater in the tank...
I use mostly light from the two windows located near the tank...
sometimes I do use the plant light.. half of it is blue (I put a transparent blue plstic peice on half of the lamp..) the Fish generally hang out on the blue side ......
I feed them normal fish food with sometimes treats of crickets
and redwiggler worms...
I didn't know that I am not supposed to keep native fish ....
I will be returning my Brim sooner than I had planned (probly tommorrow) They are great fish.. I really love mine I can't belive it is prohibited to keep them in an aquarium.. especialy since you can buy them from fish stock sotres and also buy fish like tehse to be used as bait fish... wierd..
