What does a protein skimmer do?

From my own observations I must agree with Mandairn. My wild ocellarus clown NEVER leaves one of my 3 anenomes. If he does it is only to head straight for another. It is like he has no confidence in the world outside the anenome. On the other hand my tank bred tomato clown spends most of his time in my bulb anenome but has a lot more confidence when he leaves it to feed. He ventures out a lot more, but still prefers to be in the anenome!
