I agree, it's easy to get burned out on this site--answering all the same cycling and stocking questions over and over again, and feeling like your advice is only listened to maybe half the time.

But I think back to when I first stumbled on this site, with my two goldfish and two gouramis in a 10 gallon tank :) If the kind folks here hadn't sat me down and talked some sense into me, then I wouldn't have the hobby that I have now (and enjoy having!)

Like others have said, it's good to read the stickies and to use the search function before posting, but most people that come here for the first time don't even yet realize the amount of info that they need to absorb. And when they do try to read stuff on their own, they get confused. So, I guess I'm just saying that it's good for us to remember what it was like when we were newbies, and have patience ;)

:clap: Some ppl forget that they were also nooobs at one time and even though they've been in the hobby for many years, they are still noobs, nobody will ever know it all. People come here for answers and most dont know how to use the unlimited functions here ie: search etc..Its a PAIN
to answer the same questions over and over but thats what this site is all about. The friendly people and great/ accurate information is what makes the Monster network the best on the planet! If we didnt answer questions/help noobs we would have many dead or dieing fish and Walmart would be top on the sales charts, so please have patience for the new hobbiest. WE WERE NEW AT ONE TIME....

Very nicely put. Forums are for people to learn. I know it's frustrating sometimes, but even if only 1 in 10 listen and learn, it's worth it.

what drives me nuts more than anything is this type of answer no punctuation no caps all words running together i dont read questions answers written in this format

People driving slow in the left lane and no turn signals.

I do not mind going over things again and again with different new aquarists. I just hate when they don't take or even care about the good sense ideas given to them.

LeahK, i salute you!

"Some ppl forget that they were also nooobs at one time and even though they've been in the hobby for many years, they are still noobs, nobody will ever know it all." Well said, Piggy67, well said indeed.

When someone asks how many more fish they can fit in an aquarium. I mean, the concern for stock level is appreciated, but must the focus be on how many fish you can stuff into a box of water before people yell at you?

If you want lots of fish, get a bigger aquarium. If you can't get a bigger aquarium, enjoy what you have.
