Common sense being so UNcommon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

People who don't think it should be mentioned when someone is so OS the fish are probably ready to drop, people who are so ignorant they do what they want after being told by dozens of people the right way to go.

In the polls, Glo-fish. I hate it when people don't care that people are making freaks out of innocent danios.

Okay, so how I understand it glo-fish are zebra danios genetically modified with a jellyfish gene for bioluminescence?

But glowlight tetras aren't genetically altered, they're natural in the wild?

I've always liked glowlight tetras, if they're so called 'glo-fish' that sucks

my lil rant

oh man I can sit here all day and think of the S[]!t that drives me nutz!!

1 the never ending wallmart/petsmart/petco debate on fish

2 the stupid my fish grows to my surroundings speal

3 the "how long does a goldfish live? a couple of weeks??"

4 the set up fully stocked aquarium overnight

5 the inch per gallon rule

6 when people dont adhear to the MINIMUM tank req.

7 the whole impulse buying and then asking what do they eat/require/tankmates/ ect

8 the countless hours/days/months/years you spend reading/studing/looking over/taking care of/own experiences w/ fish only to get a smug remark that you dont know what you are talking about when givin advise (THAT YOU KNOW IS TRUE!!)

9 the trying to explain to someone about the nitrogen cycle to only get ignored and seeing them buy a buch of fish for a soon to be overstocked tank

10 the people who buy fish w/ out a care in the world b/c of a stupid 14 day garantee.

11 the people who stuff bettas in bowl/vases w/out any heat source or filtration

12 people who do water changes once a year

13 people who buy chemicals to solve all their problem, ich, ph, water clarity, algae, ect ect

14 people who wonder why their fish dies when they have an oscar w/ guppies

15 people who you try to educate on fish care but dont listen as they see fish as a "home decoration" vrs a hobby.

I don't like the glo fish debate but i hate it when people by a gold fish and an "sucker fish/algae eater" (common pleco) and then they think they know everything and tell you how to do things. OR i just had this dude tell me he had 3in oscars and that he thought they were showing signs of "breeding" because he could tell that they were male and female because of the way that they acted and i was like yeah right dude, I argued a bit and then idk he just didn't seem to care or listen to what i was saying....i think i'm going to go make a thread about that !!!

Pretty much everything that has been said in this thread already. But I voted overstocking.

Glolite Tetra are not Glofish. They are a natural fish.

i personally have nothing agenst glo-fish, genetic alteration is not as bad as other things such as tattooed fish. working in a pet store i got alot of people who got gold fish from other places and weren't told about cycling or won them at a fair (worst month ever) and are clueless about them. i also got people who didn't listen to advice, really over stocked there tanks or just viewed them as decoration which got to me but eventually i sort of gave up on peple like that. this didn't mean i didn't tell them about what thay where doing just i sort of gave up caring if thay didn't listen.

quite a few of them did listen thank fully and there where alot of people who did do the right thing when thay got the gold fish from the fair and such which was good. i think one of the best moment i had was when i had a 10 year old kid come in and she had resurched and came in to get the equipment and get her tank cycled (she when with a fish less cycle :) ). she later came in in with water samples weekly (we used liquid tests there) till the tank was cyled then stocked it vary slowly after that. i was varry happy after that
