What effect will grapevine have?

I found the coolest piece of wood at my local Reptile store and I'd like to put it in my 75gal tank as a large driftwood piece. The guy at the store said it was grapevine and he didn't know what effect water would have on the wood or what the wood might do to the water. Anyone have any info?

A bad effect. Grapevine looks awesome at first, but since its very soft wood it'll rot and turn mushy in a couple days. Better off finding some type of hardwood.
