My friend just took my bala shark from me. now I don't know what else to put in. I'm wondering if a red tail shark will fit in or if I should just give up on any type of shark? I'm thinking of adding one more silver dollar, one more parrot and maybe a school of smaller fish that aren't too small as to be eaten by the parrot or severum. Any thoughts or ideas?

IMHO, I wouldn't add any more fish, especially those that get large. Your fish are young'uns now, but the parrot will get @8" (chunky, too), severum from 8-10, silver dollars @ 10". Definitely no sharks as you've made a fairly peaceable kingdom. As I sit here looking at my 55, with adolescent Ghost Knife and Severum, young rainbow shark and cories, and imagine a parrot, silver dollars, and maybe another Sev, I feel overcrowded myself. It's hard waiting for them to grow and fill the tank more, but bide your time, it's well worth it!!! Work with 'scaping with some variable sizes of plants, rock, and maybe some nice driftwood. Just my two taters' worth.

what about just a school of 4-5 smaller fish, maybe lemon tetras or something to bring a little aacivity to the top part of the tank. do you think that would be too much in the long run?
