what is a calcium reactor.

hi,

can anyone tell me what a calcium reactor is, and what its used for?
iv seen a pics of one on the net, but when it came down to reading what it was for, it went straght over my head.

it is something u add on to the aquarium it holds a media that buffers the calcium for ur aquarium...basically it makes sure ur calcium doesn't drop. but there are cheaper easier ways. the only reason ud need one was if u were doing a tank with tons of hard corals. u can use a buffer like Kent Tech-CB parts a&B

hey thx for the complement! i worked in a lfs for over 2 years and i also used to service aquariums as well. i have kept fish since i was 11(8 years) and i am currently working at a double major in zoology and aquatic sciences if that explains any lol. right now it is 8:30pm my last post was at 4:30pm my time if that helps:)
