I've just gotten interested in anubias plants and have seen reference to some of the ones for sale as mother rhizome plants and mother colony plants. What does this mean? In the same thread, they are listed for sale just by their name, so there has to be some sort of difference. Just wondering what the difference is.

The rhizome is the main part of the plant where the roots come from. Anubias grow new plants off of this. (That's very simple explanation.) Google Anubias propagation to get more information.

:iagree:

I would ask the seller what they mean as "mother rhizome plant" sounds like the main plant (not propogated) while "mother colony plant" sounds like it could also be that or a propogated part of the anubias.
