Ok so almost 2 years ago I buy 2 baby RES sexed pair well about less then 2 weeks or so I lose one. I still have the other and I have him in a 55 gallon tank, but the filter I have is a whisper 60 and its horrbile. I know Ive heard of the Fluval 305 but I see some people say it leaks. I know they run about $120 on amazon for the Fluval but do you guys know of something that would be good for a RES that doesnt leak? Also I will note that he is feed in his tank, I tried taking them out and feeding in different container as babies but it scared them and they would not eat. So I have crumbs at bottom of tank all the time. Also I am needing a water changer I have the aqueon water changer but I broke the piece you stick in water to suck water out or put water in. When I changed the tank as I was putting water in or taking it out the switch broke when I went to stop the flow and water went all over, and some landed on my moms oil painting which she spent hours on, luckliy she thinks it was ok, but now you know why I was so mad. Any suggestions on a water changer and what to do filter wise would help also, thanks guys and gals for your help!

Does the sunsun take water from the top of tank or bottom? Cause I feed him in the tank I probably want one that takes water from the bottom so it gets the extra crumbs and poop .

feed less, if it is sinking to the bottom or stays floating un eaten you're feeding too much. I had two turtles in a 55 for a while before moving them to a pond, had a fluval 305 and a 205 running on it.
