I have 6 day old platy fry and I feed them finely crushed flake food 2 or 3 times a day. Well what else can I feed them that will make them grow rapid. Other than baby brine shrimp and bbs. Also can they eat chipped up frozen blood worms? Thanks

Scraping a bit of egg yolk from a hard-boiled egg and suspending it in the jar will help. Use a medicine dropper and squirt the water with the yolk to the tank containing the fry. Be careful not to overfeed as it clouds the water easily. Green water also helps although you wouldn't want an algal bloom in your rearing tank.

Something that I have used with some good results is frozen daphnia for young live bearers. At about 2 weeks they are able to eat it and enjoy it greatly. It is a supplement, not a main food. The good growth type flake food should be the main food.

Wait how do I know if the fry is eating the baby brine shrimp?????????

Their poo turns orange. :grinyes:

You could also feed First Bites. I've never used it myself but I heard it is well recommended.

Lol, well I just put some baby brine shrimp in the tank and the fry is chomping on them, Even the adults!
