What is the best algae eater for small tanks?

I don;t think Otos are hard to keep alive, if they live through the first week.

My problem has always been that I lose a bunch right after purchase. If they make it two weeks, then they stay for a long time.

well, which tanks do you need an algae eater for? if it's your 2.5G, 3-4 cherry shrimp or an amano shrimp or two should take care of any algae that may arise, if it's your 20G, a BN pleco or 3-4 otos will take care of your needs nicely. this all depends on your current stocking, of course.

I have 2, 5 gallon tanks not 2 point 5 gallon tank
ok, now which tank needs the algae eaters? i stand by my original suggestions but add on 3-4 more cherries and 1-2 more amanos.

I have many baby snail about 1cm but they don't do anything. I used have a commom pleco in my other 25 gallon but it died recently after 8 years. It was 10 inches. I need the algae eater in the 5 gallon.

you kept a 10 inch pleco in a 25G tank? that seems pretty cruel if you ask me.

I would get 3 amano shrimp. they are very good at eating algae and will keep it mighty clean. what else do you have in the 5G tank?

i put snails in my tank and it bred a lot of babies.so u should put whiptails cause i read in a book it grows to quite suit for a small tank
