My center piece is my Black Ghost Knifefish - Shadow.

When he is zooming around the tank - you really don't see anything else - the way he can go foreward, backward, up and down is amazing.

Great personality - he will come to meet me when I go to the tank - even if it is daytime and he is in his cave.

What is your center peice fish?

Why?

What would you get if there were no restrictions - tank size, environment needed, etc.?

i'm so jealous. I've been wanting a BGK since i came into the hobby. My tank is too small though, but as soon as i get a decent size tank he WILL be my centerpeice i hope.

My betta, Dante. He's showy, energetic, and fiesty... not like your usual American-bred bettas. He definitely commands attention when you see him in my planted fiver.

In my 10 gallon, since it only has the one fish, it'd be Lem. He's my elect. yellow cichlid. He's so cute chillin' in his little cave, moving the gravel around for a pretty girl that'll never show up... :)

In my 30 gallon, Reptar's my baby. He's a 6 or 7" common sengal bichir. Loved him since I bought him as a wee little pinky finger-length baby from a store in Wal-Mart. He was being harassed by a CAE when I saw him. Now he'd probably have ate that lil' bugger for lunch!!!

But obviously he's going to continue to grow, so I'm gonna need something bigger than 30 soon or else my baby boy's gonna hafta find a new home. *sigh*

in my 10, I have two female bettas. one is blue and one is red, both very intensely colored. They both catch the eye equally

my 75 is sort of all about centerpiece fish. my syno and my kingley are equally striking, but when the leopard bush grows, he'll be a real sight for sore eyes with his coloration.

i have 4 tanks, out of the 4, my #1 would have to be in my 150gal...
my.. REDTAIL CATFISH!!:headbang2:

Volt Man, tell me that isn't your tank! Lol

Mine's a paradise gourami, nice and simple

Sounds like me and my Bichir. When I was taking him home from Wal-Mart, I distinctly remember thinking to myself

"Surely Wal-Mart wouldn't sell anything that'd be large and predatorial other than the Oscars. They marked the Oscars as carnivores and I know they eat small fish, but Oscars grow big. I know that much. This guy is tiny small. Surely he won't be any fuss to keep."

*sigh* Hopelessly naive of me... :headshake2:

29 - three-spot gourami - accident really - mixing drawf and large gouramis doesn't work out so well...
25 - shoal of beunos aires tetras - An uneducated purchase of my newbie days... now one of my favourite... always a blast to watch them eat...
20 tall - female betta - you can guess why...
45 long saltwater - yellow tang - Tang's are awesome!

If I had no restrictions there would be a few arowana in a FW and a "shoal" of vallimingi tangs in a SW... But practically speaking my "dream" fish would be a large naso tang.
