What is the deal with all the threads: my name is ____ and Im from MFK? Is this really neccesary. I feel like I'm at an AA meeting.

They are haveing a contest over there and in order to be eligeble you must be a member at all of the Monster Aquaria Network sites and you must make a post in the introduce your self forum. This is to try and get members to try out all three of the network of sites. Why they are posting Im from Monsterfishkeepers in all the titles? I have know Idea.

I don't see how it is spam most of the new MFK'ers have a few posts already if you look at there info. Hopefully some of them will stick around, enjoy AC and add another perspective to it.
I dont know where they all got the idea of useing the same title lol

It's not like MFK is just some other forum. It's part of our network of forums(along with Aquatic Photo.) Both are linked from AC forums page, and have links to each of the 2 other sites on the respective boards. http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=65
So it's not spam at all.


Each one has a specific area of the hobby, so they are not competing for members. It's a good way to get some new ideas and experiences here.

My introduction at MFK stated I was from AC.

If we are all one group then why is there a post up on MFK in which not only are AC members being made fun of, but a previous post I made is being ridiculed by MFK members?

The same reason why there is negative talk on AC about MFK such as this. We are all a network, sister sites. I see no problem with them announcing they are here from MFK. The same as some of us who go visit MFK announce that we are from AC.

I said have not said anything negative about MFK. I was inquiring why so many new users were introducing themselves as such. I also noticed that few have introduced themselves in the same way on MFK.
