On my driftwood..
It's covered in it

Should I take it out and clean it off?
It's only been in my tank a day or two..!!

Appears to be hair algae. Caused by nutrient inbalance in water, and or to much light.

Blue

Hmm well my tank (55 gallon) has been up since Dec 26th I used all the gravel and decs from my 20 gallon and also dropped the filter in with the new one in the spare slot of the penguin, maybe it is to do with the cycle of the new tank?
What should I do? Clean it off? It is not on any other surface I have no algae, I highly doubt it is the light as my tank is dark red brown from the wood and it's only been in a day or two.
Thanks for your help.

mine did the same thing! i soaked it for a week put it back in the tank and it was sill there. scrubbed it off ..put it back in still came so i had to throw it away. its like a film of slime its yukky ...but it only happened on 1 of the logs (i had 2) so maybe its something to do with it not being treated?

also you should soak it loads befor you put it into you tank altho it says its natural for the tank and won't harm fish..it doesn't look good and it messes with the ph

I stirred tsand, Added more plants etc..

I might try boiling it again. It was a purchased piece of wood it came with a Hagen Geo System label so it says it is safe for fish tanks, I did boil it and soak it before I put it in and I really like the dark water it has given, I have tested my ph it is 7.6 same as always...

great! well it might not be like what i had but i was so upset when i had to throw it away
