What is this green ball in my tank?

So I have a 2.5g hex set up with 1 male beta in it and several live plants with plenty of lights.

The last Week I have noticed 2 small "balls" about the size of a quarter one is maybe a little larger. they are bright green and look like a plant or an algae.

they look like those moss balls that people buy in the pet store sorta.

The only plants I have in this tank are java fern, and crypts.

What is it and where did it come from??

Do you have moss in the tank? Otherwise hair algae maybe?

a very slow moving snail has accumulated some moss?

It looks like a marimo ball, but if it is, that is the fastest growing marimo ball in history!! No clue unless it is hair algae, but I have never seen hair algae grow in a spherical formation. Weird!!

just a clump of hair algae, just toss it out.
I get them a lot in my shrimp tanks.
