What is this??

did you clean your filter as well recently? it sure looks like bacteria bloom to me, and that would be due to the bacteria colonies being disturbed too much.

daily large water changes if you see ammonia or nitrite readings, with hefty doses of Prime dechlorinator to keep any possible ammonia and nitrite spikes from harming the fish.

the cloudiness itself won't harm your fish, it just doesn't look very nice while the bacteria repopulates.

I know it looks horrible and is driving me crazy I wi

Could just be something weird if it is already gone. I had my water go cloudy for two days last week and then back to crystal clear. I was in the middle of a nitrite cycle though so I thought that was the cause.

Maybe that's what I had going on but I'm glad its over. I can actually enjoy my tank again lol.

Ok cleared up. Weird.

not weird at all. the bacteria repopulated to a level needed to match the bioload of the fish in your tank. once the bacteria levels out to where it needs to be, the haziness clears up.

The weird part about it is they've been in there for about a month. Same fish the whole time. That's what I didn't understand.

possibly was something you did during a water change or filter cleaning upset the balance of bacteria, and that resulted in a bloom/haze.

in the springtime, i usually use more Prime dechlorinator than usual, because due to run-off, the local water supply has a bit of ammonia in it. that bit of ammonia can cause your tank's bacteria to kick into high gear for a bit, and a bloom can happen.

Must be. Thank God its gone though I was starting to get worried. But my fish act like nothing ever happened.
