What kind of school could/should I add to this?

Provided my 1 molly pulls through treatment okay, my stock looks like this for my 29gal:

3 swordtails
2 platies
1 molly
1 pleco (on order)

This will eventually (within a couple months) be a low tech planted tank.
I would like a very pretty, flashy school of small fish that would do well with these and not overstock the 29gal. A school of about 6-8, depending on their max size.

I am leaning towards harlequin rasboras, though unsure which kind look the nicest. When I look them up online, the pictures of them don't look nearly is beautiful as they do in some of the tank pics you guys post here.

Pics of your suggested schooling fish in your tank would be a huge bonus! :)

Rasboras for sure.

Have you seen them in real life ? I always admire them in my lfs - and that is in the shop tanks, where they are never going to colour up as nicely as in a good set-up well maintained. I would definitely have them :)

Since your existing fish are all livebearers (apart from the pleco), why not some male-only guppies? they would all do well with similar water requirements...

I think the rasboras will be nice in your setup. They are tight schoolers and look beautiful swimming through all the live plants.

I recently added a school of 8 H. rasboras to my 29 gal planted tank. At the lfs where I bought them they kind of looked a little bland but once you have them on your tank for a week or so they really brighten up and look great.

I love my harlequin rasboras. Pictures cannot do this fish true justice, at least not mine. I have never seen such beautiful rasboras. I remember having some before when starting out in the hobby, but they weren't as nice looking as the ones I have now. Mine have a luminescent silver band on top of their black triangle and at just the right angle their orange glow body seems to turn purple. It's crazy. I have never seen any rasboras like this, but that may just have been because cameras can't capture their true colors. My cheap camera definately wouldn't be able to do them justice. I can't even get a clear picture of them up close, they're always blurry.

So, you definitely have my vote for the rasboras. Either:
