I am sure this is a matter of personal taste but I just wanted to know what everyone else is doing? Solid Color? Plant pattern?

Whats your preferrence?

Solid Color always, I used to use paint, but the oceanvisions self adhesive bacgrounds made paint obsolete for me.

plants it makes it look pretty! :dive2:

right now i'm using a black piece of cardstock, but i might paint it black later for a depthless effect.

Just a heads-up. Find a sign shop in your area and they should be able to sell you a sheet of self-adhesive vinyl for much cheaper than the oceanvisions stuff. I used to use OV and the stuff from the sign shop is the same thing, but better quality, easier to apply, and much cheaper. I got a 48x48 sheet for $10. That's enough to do my 75 gallon TWICE! :)

I am in the process of setting up a new tank and went the painted route. I had always used the generic backgrounds from the LFS in the past but this time I wanted something different. I happened to have a half gallon of fairly dark blue acrylic paint in the garage and used that. Interesting thing is that the color is significantly lighter than the shelves that also got the paint. All in all I am definitely happy as it didn't cost me anything but an evening and I have something different to look at this time around until I get some plants.

i change my background depends on how i feel..
right now i have a cover for binder to make it look like i have ADA cube garden mist. :o
but when i take pictures i use construction papers or come color panels.
like i said before, i dont like to paint tank...
