i have a 55gallon with convicts and firemouths... what kind of algae eater can i get besides a pleco !!!?

I assume you mean besides a common pleco. A bristlenose pleco or bulldog pleco would serve well. Be sure to get one large enough to withstand any cichlid aggression.

In my opinion a Chinese Algae Eater would be good. They are tough and can handle living with Cichlids easily.

True enough, at least once they get to a good size, but don't expect it to eat much algae. Maybe snails would do it for you.
