what kinda algee eater is this?

I have had him for about 2 years now started off in a ten gal with some mollies and now he has made it all this time and I have never really known what kinda Algee eater. THanks 4 any help.

Looks like a Siamese Algea Eater to me. We have one that looks just like this one. Well it did when it was that size.
 
i'm gonna go with Gyrinocheilus aymonieri, the latin name. too many different kinds of fish that go by siamese/chinese/whatever algae eaters. i think they are most commonly referred to as chinese algae eaters (cae), though.

these guys can get pretty big... up to 10 inches, i think.
 
wow ten inches!!!!!!!!!!:eek3: man I might as well forget about getting a 75 gal tank for mbunas all the fish I have are going to be huge. :headbang2:
 
looks like i was reading your mind... 10 inches, i believe... but usually smaller than that... like around 8. i've had people tell me theirs were about a foot long, though.... who knows if they were just fish-tales, though. ^_^
 
Yup CAE, sold usually as the "Golden CAE"

Get's big, and is known to be quite aggresive...
 
CAE... Gets to be quite agressive as an adult.
