What Sand!?

play sand is usually too dusty and small grained to work quite right. A 6 bead of sandblasting sand would work better, or even poolfilter sand is very thick, just allow it to settle cuz it's dirty.

go to home depot and use any silicate sand they have.

you have no pool stores anywhere?

I know some companies like Seachem offer sand that is safe for freshwater. But, as everyone has stated that you will need the larger grain sand. But if you do get sand, i highly recommend getting some Maylasian Trumpet Snails, they love to dig into the sand.

I use playsand and haven't had any problems. I bought mine at home depot, but have since noticed that both zellers, walmart, home hardware and revy also carry playsand.

Look up a local hard ware store and give them a call, chances are, they'll have at least playsand. Sometimes those local hardware guys will specia order what you're looking for...

good luck! :)
