You could always go with the classic "Poached Eye" because he has a blue eye (black and blue). You could also use the comedy movie "Mickey Blue-Eyes" as inspiration. Funny movie, if you haven't seen it! 
Forgive me if I'm wrong, but opal is a blue-ish color, right? .....I'm a guy....please forgive me. You gotta stick with red, green, blue, yellow, black, etc. for me!
