A 29g tank is right in the wheel-house of many filters...
If you're planning on a heavily planted tank or on having lots of other structure (rocks, wood etc.), go large. If it's going to be less crowded with respect to things that block water circulation, you need not go so large.
I'd go w/ an Eheim 2213 for a pretty empty tank, 2215 if you really want to stuff it. A Mag would also work as would an XP3, small C series...
Things to compare among filters w/ any sort of decent reputation: Flow rating, Internal Volume, Price. When you look at all 3 of these factors, you'll probably start pruning the list w/o any doubts.
