I own one beta fish in a 4 liter tank.

I want to get maybe 2-3 little fishes, since it's really empty now.

There are 2 small ramshorn snails, 1 cm diameter.

Few strands of plants.

Please help me recommend some species of small fishes that won't grow 1-2 cm?

4 liters? as in 1 gallon? thats WAY too small for ANY fish, none the less more than one. betta fish should have at least 20 liters to themselves, its only in bigger tanks that they can be kept with other fish

the only reason bettas can live in jars is because they can breathe air, any other fish would die. just because they can live in small bodies of water doesnt mean its right, imagine living in a closet for your entire life, it would seriously suck

While some people keep betas in a jar, they are tropical fish and should be kept in a tank with filter and heater set to about 78F. Compare it to this. You could live locked in a 5X8' bathroom without plumbing for years as long as someone slipped you food under the door. It doesn't mean you would be healthy or you would like it and the stench would be awful. Same thing for a beta. They can do it because they are labrinth fish, doesn't mean it is healthy for them or that they like it.
