Aquabid has screwed me on 2 different auctions. It's not saving my reserve price when I post something for sale. I caught it on my large auction and was able to save it with the help of a friend. This time I didn't catch it in time and it cost me $7. I'm honoring the bidders buy, but if they don't get this crap straigtened out, I won't be back to Aquabid.

I've left two messages with the administrators for the site and haven't received a single reply. This is not good business.

Has this happened to anyone else? :angryfire:

Skip the reserve and just price the starting bid to suit.

Yup, just start the auction at your base price, and forget the reserve. Reserve prices always drive me nuts, lol, because if I want an item I don't want to have to guess what the reserve might be. If it starts at a certain price, you will get at least what you are expecting and no guess work for the buyer.

IMO aquabid has always been a bit weird for me...first the reserve prices doesn't always work (hasn't bothered me that much)

second there are some really really REALLY shady sellers on there that have to have multiple accounts

anyways it's easier selling on here or even local less headache less "know it alls" wait maybe not but anyways..just easier

I am going to quit with a reserve price and just start the auctions at what I expect out of them. Aquabid finally messaged me back and told me it was my fault, which I corrected them on.

Another thing that doesn't always work is the Buy It Now feature. Sometimes it'll show like it's supposed to. Other times, I'll notice that it's not on the auction page and I'll go to modify it to add it, and it's already there, but not showing up.

I'm just going to quit with all the special crap and just post what I want.

Thanks for the all the feedback. :)

I'm not a fan of Reserves either, but to each their own.

Aquabid is just messed up.. the auction script is wonky, the server is unstable, the ads are sometimes laced with spyware and viruses.. but these are all things you'll just to have to deal with, because they've never bothered trying to fix these problems.

Exactly. The guy that emailed me back from Aquabid said that he didn't see my Reserve Price entered when he looked at the details. Of course he didn't see it, it didn't save it. Once someone bids, then you can modify it again with this detail.

I will continue to use the service only cause it's the only one that I know of that's specific to the hobby. I don't like Ebay at all. People are sketchy even more so on there.

i've had better luck on ebay since they changed their rules around..its much MUCH easier to get a response and havent had a headache from them in QUITE some time..on the other hand I cant say the same for aquabid

My main problem with ebay is that they charge for everything. Aquabid doesn't charge at all and lets you choose to make a donation if your sell is over $30. I was going to post on Ebay a couple of weeks ago, but they immediately wanted to charge my bank account just to post the auction.
