hey guys, i have a 75 gallon long palu with about 6 in of water. i have tried numerous plants in the tank but nothing will grow well , so i'm coming to all of you for advice. the tank is around 75 degrees,ph 6.0, i'm using two 18 inches flourescent tube lights one a cool white the other a plant light from walmart, filtration is a canister filter rated for 100 gal tank. i have small musk turt and a few minnows out of the local lake. been up and running for about a year. i have tried java moss because i was told this was super easy to grow and the only place it's growing great is on my walls (i have a foam/rock wall background) the moss is growing best where my sprayer bar is. basically my entire wall is a waterfall. does anyone have suggestion of plants i can grow best emersed or anything else i can try? should i try diy co2 injection will this even work with such shallow water. by the way the substrate is playsand and peagravel with a little flourite mixed in. anyway thanks for the help. i really want this tank to grow more plants so it will be a palu and not just a shallow water fish tank. more photos @ http://s60.photobucket.com/albums/h29/hopelee9101/

Where are you tring to grow plants, in the water, or on the land part?? Also for java moss, I'm pretty sure your suppose to plant it submerged, and let it grow out? Thats just what i've heard.

well i would like to grow some water plants some completly submersed and some emersed. the java moss started in the water but apparently got sucked into my filter and small spores of it came out of my sprayer bar and started a "carpet" of the stuff and my back wall, as i said before the entire wall is a sort of waterfall because the sprayer bar from the canister filter is at the top of the wall. anyway i would just like the water area to be a little more appealing.
