What type of fish is this?

Wow, thanks very much to everyone! Yeah, they're in a goldfish bowl at the moment...it's the only thing I have available. I figured it probably wasn't the best living environment, but I didn't have much of a choice otherwise since the only fish I've ever had always lived in bowls.
Should he be living in a tank?

Algae flakes...I'll remember that. Are they available at any pet store?

Thanks again for your input everyone!

A synodontis and a german blue ram, with the "balloon" deformity. You should return them ASAP if you can't get a 20g tank or larger for them, keeping fish in bowls (especially larger active fish like synodontis) is a bad idea. If left in there any longer they'll die of the ammonia they're producing (and as they produce more when they're stressed, like they'd be in a tiny bowl with nothing to hide in, there's probably a lot of ammonia in there).

Oh wow, okay. I feel awful for putting them in an environment that endangers their health. :(
