What would be needed to make for instance a 225 gallon, need as little maintence and cleaning as possible?

Please be specific....types of filters, skimmers, Lbs of live rock/sand!

I currently have a 200 gallon Wet Dry filter with a bunch of Bio Balls, my return pump is a Rio 3100 on the return the water goes through a 15 watt UV sterilizer and then is split to return on opposite sides of the tank. 2 hang on 330b penguin filters. Almost 200 lbs of live rock, 200lbs of live sand - with about 80lbs of some Carib Sea Aragonite mixed in. All my water came from my Pure Flo II RO unit. I need to get an in sump Protein skimmer, what type is best?

I am assuming the filtration requirements are different depending on the inhabitants....what esle would be needed for aggressive vs peaceful or vice versa?

Thanks so much, as you can see i am pretty new to all of this! The more research i do the more i get confused. It seems that you can find somewhere that says anything is compatible with anything and others that say some things aren't at all compatible with others.....Where can i find the TRUTH?!?

I also have two power heads to help circulate the water, where is the best place to put these, does it matter?

I'd put the power heads at the back of the tank near the top to get good surface aggitation.

As for protein skimmers, I'd recomend the Red sea Berlin Turbo XL skimmer

I've heard good things about Remora skimmers.

Power heads - wherever gets the most water moving. Play with them. Best may be stacked in a corner, both facing the same general direction, or on opposite corners trying for ccw circulation.

I'd loose the bio balls out of the filter as well then just tend to be a nitrate factory. Let your l.r. and l.s. do your denitrification. I hope that this helps you out.
