Whats different from a TOTO MOBA Frontosa vs Zaires Moba Frontosa vs Plain Moba Frontosa????????? I am confused and I am new to all this.

I was told that TOTO was a collection area. But what are the read differences? Do they Look Different? Do they act Different? Can they be kept together? Should they be Kept together? I guess F1 is first generation from the wild parents. I get lost after that? Please help me understand.

Thanks, Arkangel77

I'm not familair with those types but most frontosa names refer to their collection points. Each collection point species is slightly different.
Here's a picture I found on the web of the collection points.

Different collection points have different appearances (coloration is usually the most specific) and habits (i.e. some collection points are easier to breed than others.) If your intention is to breed them then I would not advise keeping two collection points together as the offspring can no longer be sold as "mpimbwe" "kitumba" or "burundi" but rather just under the generic name of Frontosa.

From my understanding, as in your initial post, M'Toto seems to be a (or the) collection point for Moba's and is located on the Congo (Zaire) side of the lake. Subsequently, (again, as I understand it), "M'toto Moba", "Zaire Moba" and "Moba" are all pretty much the same variant.

F1 are the (captivity-born) off-spring of wild caughts. F2 are the off-spring of F1's.

THANK YOU all for your reply's. I am strating to gain some undestanding. I was getting REAL confused!

Thanks, Arkangel77
