What's the best schooling Tetra in low numbers?

As you can see from my signature, I have neons and rummy nose tetra. Both are loads of fun to watch! I don't have big fish in there with them, so they are pretty bold and are constantly chasing and darting around. When I first brought home 4 neons, they were all huddled up scared. After a few days, they realized that there was nothing scary in the tank, so they became very active. Then, I got some more neons, then starting scouting around for rummynose. Finally, I was able to get 3, then a couple weeks later the shop had more so I bought 2 more. I like schools of at least 4-10 of the same type. They are much more active in larger groups. Mine sometimes school, then split off into twos or threes. Sometimes both schools even school all as one school. They like to have some of their own type though. Sometimes, they all split up on their own.

One of the rummy nose went through about 2 days when I first bought him/her where it was just convinced that it was a spotted cory catfish. It hung out with them all the time and even got in their cave with them. It was strange! I was getting kind of worried. Then one day, he finally started schooling with the other tetra.

I love tetra because they are very active, and don't pick on each other like some danios do. I used to have some blue long finned danios. It was awful. There were 5 to start with. Then, they all ganged up on this one, and didn't let him eat! After a week or so I was able to catch that one and moved it to the 10 gallon to nurse it back to health, and they started in on another one!! It got pretty crazy. I was MISERABLE watching those danios pick on each other. Has anyone else had that problem with danios? They didn't last very long. I think that they may have just stressed each other out really bad. I don't know, maybe mine were weird!

Anyway, tetra are loads of fun to watch!
