I have all these nice fish and now i want something that is just plain MEAN. i used to have this Buttakuferi(sp?) cichlid that would attack the glass when you walked by and i loved hearing its teeth scrape on the glass. i just want something big and scary that chases people away from the tank. what can you recomend? :D

a dovii or guatapote. my arowana dosent like people so he jumps and splashes. or maybe a huge fahaka puffer. some red devils are mean as hell, hence the name.

Wolf fish. There's someone on the forum named wolf fish lover (or something similar...) and a while back he posted information on them and WOW they sound (and look!!) scary!!

I had a Texas / Dempsey cross..at least thats what bunches of fish nuts said it was..nobody was ever sure.Anyhow..this thing was pure evil. It had a legacy in the Erie Pa area. I know of it changing hands between 4 people and passed through 3 different shops. Thing was drop dead beautiful but man..it had a bad temper. It killed everything it ever came into contact with. I recall one guy that bragged that he had the toughest Jack Dempsey on the planet..I warned him off this fish but he had to prove how bad he was..so he bought it..two weeks later I saw him in the store again and I asked how things were..he looked rather sheepishly at the floor and said that this little fish beat his Dempsy almost to death in a matter of minutes. He said too that he'd taken the devil fish to another store for credit. My friend that owned the store I worked in refused to take it back.

Meanest fish, once for once.. This fish has been introduced to many countries and have wipped out many other species twice their size, for an exotic it is one mean fish.
The fish gets a whopping 2-3 inches in length, and this is the female. males are smaller, about 1 inch.
they have been given the name DAMBUSIA . the fish is Gambusia affinis the western Mosquito fish.
This fish is a pretty tough cookie, it has destroyed many echo systems and caused more ecological damage than any snake head or wolf fish that have been introduced to a water system.

the meanest fish i have ever owned would have to be my RD it was mean as hell it would chase two fish at the same time so i took him to the pet store and got a different fish And right now I have a very mean Convict it is chasing everything in my tank

The meanest fish I owned is the SOB i have now, a JAG. He is right at 14" long and when I clean his tank I have to keep him distracted with my algae brush. Sometimes when I'm not paying attention he will attack my hand and it doesn't feel good when he bites. I had a pair of these before and as long as I didn't get within a foot or so of their nest it was alright but this one male is mean and nasty. He will come from the other side of the tank which is 72" long in a flash and grab my hand, fingers it doesn't matter. And he don't like it when other people go up to the tank to take a look. But he is a beautiful fish so I deal with it.

I don't understand why people want aggressive fish like that. After the initial killing of every other fish in your tank doesn't it get old?
