Get a master test kit and test your parameters. It's not just about time. There are many factors involved. There are numerous posts on this forum about it, so look around.
Without knowing your water parameters, you're doing your fish a disservice. You can buy one at PetsFart for about $15 if you print the price out online.
Another reason to miss the edit function.
Hes right though check you water before you add anything or you pretty much just wasteing money. Post your results here and we can give you some more advice.
The big issue here is that you haven’t cycled your tank yet, so any fish you put into it will die from ammonia and nitrite poisoning . Just having a tank up and running for awhile does not cycle your tank, this is where a test kit is needed and posting parameters is important. Do a search for ‘cycle tank’ and see what you find. Anybody know where the cycle article is?
Not true^ They will not just "die " from being put in there. They can die from ammonia spikes though. Ive had 4 zebra danios in my tank 2 weeks after it had been setup, and they are fine.
