When do you know the fungus is gone?

I have a neon tetra that had a white, cottony patch on his side extending to his top fin.

I treated with "Jungle" Fungus Clear twice (dosage is 1 tablet for every 10g every four days). I still see the white area though it is dulled some.

He seems to be doing fine. He is eating well and swimming along with his buddies.

How do you know when the fungus is gone? Does the white patch go away or change color?

Every fish that I have had that grew fungus wound up dying within a few days. The fungus should fall off after it is dead, however fungus is usually a secondary infection. Make sure there is nothing else wrong with the tank...
