I've heard prime is a really good product, but it sux that you have to med the volume of the tank every time and not just the volume of the water change....

Other lesser known dechlorinators state to only dose the water change volume....

Whats the go?

i think its just a precaution thing and a way for the company to sell that much more prime. i havent used it b4, i use stress coat, but i have only treated for what i added for 2 years with zero probs.:huh:

This is only true when you are using a python type devise and adding the water directly from the faucet to the whole tank. If you add water directly to the tank you need to add the correct amount of Prime to cover the whole tank's water volume.
IF you are using the bucket method and you use Prime you only have to add enough to delchlorinate the amount in the bucket. The rest of the water in the tank is already dechlorinated.

I've always put enough dechlorinater into the tank to cover the volume of the water change then run a hose straight into the tank and filled her up... No probs so far.

I still don't understand why i would have to dechlorinate 600Litres when only150 Litres has chlorine in it :huh:

Prime is the only product i've purchased so far that tells you to dechlorinate the entire tank when doing a water change...

if your putting water in buckets and adding prime then you dont need to treat for the whole tank.

i treat the whole tank and put the hose in and fill it up. in all these years havent had a problem yet.
