So, I was working in my tank, trying to fix one of my air stones (the bubbles were going into my filter intake, I hate that sound!). So, when I'm moving one of my decorations out of the way, I notice one of my green tiger barbs going towards my hand, and then I feel him trying to bite(do they bite?) my hand and arm. Kinda weird, anything like this happen to anyone else?

Sounds like the premise for a new show....WHEN FISH GO BAD!...... my african cichlids chew on me all the time...my Oscar grabbed my thumb the other day.....and my clown loaches attack my hand like pirahnas....even my Maroon Clown in my reef tank nibbles on me.....I tell ya, don't turn your back on them man! You'll be reduced to chum in seconds!:shark:

I used to have angels that would "Kiss" my finger tip that I put on the surface, it makes a great show for friends, (probably not great for the fish though) But it sounds pretty funny, and I like the new show plan. I can see it now, thousands of neons swarming onto a person's arm and decimating it....that's morbidly funny....not really...

My tiger barbs do the same thing when i do gravel vacs. I think they can see the fine little hairs on my arms and thats what they're trying to get at. they also chase the poop up the hose too hahaha, its like they're trying to get at it. i always get frusterated with them because they make it hard to do the vacs. because they're right down at the bottom of the hose and they've been sucked up on numerous occasions haha! but when one gets sucked up the rest dart away...its only funny till someone gets hurt! they never get injured (or i don't think they do) i just gotta stop the suction and lightly shake it so they fall back out and as soon as they're back in the tank they're right down at the end of the hose again. its funny though because i try my hardest to chase them away with the hose and i don't think its my fault they're getting sucked up the hose because i try to keep them away...they just insist on being sucked up i guess!!:thud: funny little guys hey?

All our Africans like to nibble as well....of course NOT on me...lol...that would require me actually putting my hand in fishwater *shudder*
When my hubby is in the tank, the ID sharks will not leave him alone...one time the smaller one actually stuck his head in the leg of my hubby's shorts...LOL! and then had a minor panic attack when he thought he was stuck....

Oh yeah! My Tiger barbs used to do it with every water change (and as they get bigger, it does start to hurt!) lol

Dey nawt da martest fissh but dey r kewl. :shakehead:

I used to work for an aquarium maintenance service and, one day, while servicing a client's saltwater tank (a 60 hex, I think), a white-tailed damsel (the one with the convict stripes) attack a hair on my arm and wouldn't stop yanking! I couldn't help laughing. All I could think of was some small character from a Warner Brothers cartoon telling me to "C'mon! Put'em up, put'em up! I'll murdelize ya!"
