When to add plants?

yes, its what i did, if anything its good to put live plants in an uncycled tank because
A: You get the beneficial bacteria living on it to help seed your tank
B: It helps eats ammonia and nitrites
C: It eats dissolved fish waste

I did it during a fish cycle though, not sure about fishless, maybe not fishless since the ammonia levels are a lot higher in fishless....

Plus the plants help to absorb nutrients that produce algae blooms. Establishing them early on is always nice to keep the green goo down.

depending on how heavily you plant, you may not even see a cycle.

okay sorry for all the questions but i do have another one. I picked up a bunch of plants the other day and they all came in pots and i was wondering if they can stay in there or do i need to take them out?
Thanks

What are you using for substrate???

I use schultz aquatic soil...I found my plants did better when removing all the pot media, and bedding them right in the soil
