My fishes arrived yesterday. I drip acclimated them. But when do I feed them? First time having a fish tank.

Depends on the fish. Dwarf puffers do best if they can eat every day, while many grazers and omnivores will be fine getting fed every other or every 2-3 days, since they will happily consume algae and micro-organisms found in the tanks (all planted). Fry often need to be fed multiple times per day.

With new fish, I'd give them a bit to settle in, and then feed. No reason not to, and they likely were not fed prior to shipping (although if you bought them locally, they probably were fed). Either way, you'll want to monitor the water quality for a day or three.

I always wait until the morning after I put them in the tank. I find that if I feed when I first put them in the food usually just falls to the bottom and sits there. So I wait until they have a little time to calm down.

I have habrosus cories, CPDs, and red cherry shrimps. The cories and shrimps are going mad eating all the white stuff that grows on the Mopani wood.
The CPDs are still a little skittish. They have venture or of the Vals since the lights are off. Waiting to see how they act when the lights go on at 9:30am.
What do you recommend with my stocking?

That is why I also didn't feed then yesterday.

CPD's take a while to relax, and even then, without something else in the tank ours most of the time. They're very active fish, just prefer to be hidden. In terms of feeding, waiting a day or so will be fine, they can graze on algae and microfauna happily.

Thanks OrionGirl! Hopefully with the extra plants coming in today they will feel more relaxed.
