I have a 55 gallon tank currently and in the near future I would like to upgrade to a bigger tank. My problem is that the fish stores near me (petsmart/petco) only have 55 gallon tanks for their biggest.

Any suggestions?

I was thinking maybe 120 or 150 gallon size :idea2:

Are you sure they only carry up to 55 gallon? most carry all the way up to 120. If not, are there any smaller fish stores that you could try? Shipping an aquarium from a catalogue or anywhere basically doubles the price, and I strongly advise you don't do it.

would u like to sell ur 55 gallon tank?

They can order a bigger tank. Petco and Petsmart deal with Allglass up here and I've asked them to price bigger tanks for me. They won't order it though unless you pay for it first.

In Many Cities, there is a classified internet site called Craigslist.org - good deals there....local ads as mentioned above...local fish clubs...lots of people sell there used large tanks because they are moving, its too big, etc.

I got a 180g tank on ebay with all the accessories for $300 :D !! Check out used, or www.glasscages.com, if you can pick up the tank from one of the shows, their prices are pretty good

Jex...I have just the place for you and it's right in Daytona area !!!

I think it's called "Mr Petman"....and it's on Nova Road down towards Daytona Beach Shores end.....There is a skating rink in the same plaza. There's also one of those buffet type restaurants in the mall there...don't remember the name of it because we all just call it the "PigPen"...lol...

I was at that place when we were down in Daytona Beach Shores this past summer....(my inlaws live in Oceans Nine)...they have tanks up to over 200 gallons....lots and lots of tanks...all types of pets...exotics and stuff...cool place !

Here's a link to their website...

heh, i just got my 50 long from glass cages a couple weeks ago. they said it was too close to ship it, and i didn't want to wait for the september show in raleigh, so my boyfriend and i decided to go pick it up. we thought the place was near knoxville (3 hours away) but it turned out it was past nashville. and we found out the night before we went to get it. 14 hours on the road for a fishtank. . . . but it's beautiful.
