My local Petsmart has sad looking rotting plants. My good LFS is in the process of moving to a new location. Where do you get good quality plants ?

All of my plants except my anacharis have been purchased online. Petsmart and Petco of course have very little plant life and some of it does look pretty sad in the stores along with not being labelled. The independent LFS I go to has more snails in their live plants than I can identify. Not that snails are necessarily bad, but I like to know what's going into my aquarium if possible. I've used ebay in the past and purchased from US sources only. Also I have gotten a few plants from the aquaria central classifieds area. Some peoples plant trimmings can be gold for someone just starting out with a planted aquarium.

A lot of my plants have come from PetSmart. HAve recently gotten a lot off of ebay; cheap prices but the shipping cost more than the plants at times!

I have been pretty lucky, my LFS have a pretty decent selection of plants. Also, if there is something I am looking for, I just let them know and they keep an eye out for it on thier next availability list. I have also search out petstores that have a good reputation for live plants but are little farther away to get plants. I have bought plants off members of plant forums but I haven't bought from online stores before.

The plant selection in my area is horrible so pretty much all of my plants are from online retailers and other forumites. Aquabid is great when you buy from a reputable seller like Lowcoaster, you can get alot of rare plants from people like him. For the even rarer stuff, I order from Singapore.

I get all of mine from my LFS. they have rare plants like madagascar lace plants and sunrise hygros, and they're tanks are very well maintained. not a dead/dying plant in sight. but I stuck to more mundae javas and sags for my tank..

I've purchased mine on ebay - I locate and use sellers from the Northeast US so I can get the plants shipped priority rather than overnight and still get them in about 2 days. I did get some anacharis from Petsmart, it was the only plant that wasn't dead or dying. I haven't been able to find any stores selling nice quality plants around here.

Bit off topic maybe, but Phanmc I've been curious about how plants are shipped in from Singapore. Are they labelled as live plants as they are comming into the country? I mean even state to state shipping of live plants is supposed to be regulated to some degree, but that I've seen packages sent state to state are never labelled as live plants.
