where do you other canadians get riccia

ive been looking at my lfs and haven't seen any carpet plants like riccia or java moss. even at the big al's here. do i have to ask for it or something?where do you get yours? if you get it off the internet what are the shipping costs like for you? what site do you use?

I get mine from my LFS. They grow their own and gladly accept any donations from hobbiests. Apparently, riccia doesn't ship too well... especially up here in Edmonton. According to the store owner, everytime he orders a shipment of riccia, it comes in dead.

Try asking your LFS if they are willing to ship in riccia. Sometimes all it takes is someone to ask and they will bring something in.

Join a local fish club. You will find all you need there. http://www.caoac.on.ca/ for all Canadian clubs and http://www3.sympatico.ca/ps.mcfarlane/home.htm for what I think is the closest club to you. Most have monthly auctions with their meetings and all have large annual auctions. Have a look, take a visit you will find all you want and more at these meetings.
