I didn't see that one as being a political post. To me a political post would be something like, "The Democrats/Republican (or what ever) are being idiots!" or supporting some sort of political cause. Just my opinion I guess, but that didn't seem political to me.

I think I have to agree with Joe on the target thing too. I am sure the people on the trains in spain, the subways in london, night club in bali (i think it was bali) ect. didn't think they were being targeted. We hear on the news that they are looking for soft targets because they don't have the security.

Anyway, joe must be all knowing because it seems like every thing he posts is from a different web site. How can one look up that much stuff?

Joe I dont think anyones saying they want to ignore you. Mo said he liked you posts, but as a mod has to watch for those bordering on breaking rules. We cant agree on everything, I dont always believe evrything you post, but I read it and find it interesting. Sometimes I may even disagree with it, but still is presented in a way to capture my thoughts for a moment. I dont know where rosi stands, but its clear she reads you posts.....there is no such thing as bad publicity ;)

Joe is like the odd uncle that you always run into during the holidays. Sometimes he makes you want to just walk away. But you'd miss him being around just because he does add a unique presence to the family. So you don't.

But I'm still probably going to end up arguing with him from time to time. :p:

Matak!

Where have you been 'hiding'???

Hey, Joe...I was listening to Martian Boogie and thought of you.

I take that option as much as I can. Unfortunately, moderating the forum also requires me to stick my nose into threads I would prefer not to. We're a little shorthanded these days.

In this case, I was just poking a little fun. I didn't mean for it to take such a serious turn.

Mo's right. I'm somewhat glad I don't moderate at another site anymore. I'll tell you, it took some of the fun of the site from me because I ended up babysitting more than anything. I like the idea now that at other writing sites, if I don't want to read a particular thread, I don't have to. It's nice. :)

Just skip posts you don't like, or can't handle
Funny you put it that way. It's a little more nuanced, however. As you recall, the rule about political posts was established after things got very ugly, and it became clear that this particular fish board was not a good place to discuss politics. Despite the rule being pretty clear, you have repeatedly posted threads about political topics. You're a smart guy, Joe, so I chalk it up to pushing the boundaries. In that way, I think Lila's babysitter analogy hits the nail on the head.

What puzzles me is why you feel it so important to post about politics and religion on a fish board? There must be sites where you can make your opinions heard and it doesn't break the rules.

Funny how things "turn into" religion and politics. Yes, you are right - there are other sites.
;)

Other than way back, with the religious scenes with UFO's in the paintings, I don't see where I directly broke the rules. (..that may have been before "banning religion") ;) ... Of course I have been misinterpreted many times. Many have "directly injected" politics and religion and ruined the original topics. I don't think I "directly" turned a topic that way.

I suggest any current event on "terrorism" be banned -- for obvious reasons.
Since that subject obviouly can't be handled here, I will try and stay out of it when others bring it up....

Again - yes, I'll look into other sites now.

Correct me here if I'm wrong, are you a new moderator? I post topics I think are interesting. Seems you really "got it out for me". Wow..

What is GCC Forum for? Let me 'quote' it:

"General Chit-Chat -
GCC is the place to talk about almost everything that doesnt have to do with aquariums. ..

I think it also comes down to - "if I don't post on other forums here, I don't 'belong' here." Seems like that has a lot to do with it when you post what you did.

You are right, there are other sites.
I hope after all this time, I understood what the GCC Forum is for, but apparently you don't think I "get it"....

mogurnda -- Sorry about all of my "religious and political" posts.

I went back to try and find them....

Also, sorry I can come across a little too strongly about the country I live in, however, these discussions were not common.
